James Sweeney

James Sweeney is a writer for both stage and screen.

His debut stage play Make It Count is programmed for a June 18–20 to run at Louth Riverhead Theatre, and has already gained international attention with a staged reading scheduled at Langham Court Theatre in Canada later this year.

The play was awarded Best Stage Play at the Best Script Awards 2026, and he has since been invited to join their judging panel for future programmes.

James is drawn to bold, original storytelling grounded in authentic characters. He is particularly interested in creating work that is engaging, emotionally layered and entertaining.
